Black Swamp
Solarpunk

ALLEN COUNTY, OHIO  ·  EST. IN THE CRACKS OF THE PAVEMENT

The Great Black Swamp got drained for farmland, the farmland fed a boom town, and — canal, then rail, then oil — the boom moved on three times over. What's left is cracked lots and half-empty plazas where the milkweed roots itself back in anyway, splitting the concrete to do it.

Black Swamp Solarpunk is a club we're just getting off the ground — for folks around Allen County who want to build things in real life, with other people, instead of alone on the internet. Low bar to entry: if you like tinkering, you're in. We're after the overlap of DIY tech and building green with the land we've got — could be a cyberdeck workshop one month, an off-grid greenhouse plan the next, somebody's weird half-finished project the month after. Bring something to show or just come hang and trade notes. No dues, nobody keeping score. And the honest reason underneath it: the skills we teach each other now — growing, making, fixing, powering things ourselves — are the ones worth having, and a bunch of neighbors who know how to do that together get to steer their own corner of the future. Come find your people.
